HISTORIC RICHMOND TOWN is New York City's historic village and museum complex. Visitors can explore the diversity of the American experience from the colonial period to the present. The village area occupies 25 acres of a 100-acre site with about 15 restored buildings, including homes, commercial and civic buildings, as well as a museum. Visitors to Historic Richmond Town see historically furnished interiors and explore museum exhibits. Staff and volunteers provide guided tours and demonstrate the daily activities of early Staten Islanders on a seasonal, scheduled basis. The Staten Island Historical Society also operates Decker Farm (c. 1815)the last privately owned working farm in New York City, which has been continuously cultivated since 1810.

The 2025 AASLH Annual Conference, in partnership with Ohio Local History Alliance, will take place as the history field makes the final preparations to kickoff off the 250th commemoration of the founding of the United States.

The 2025 conference theme, inspired by AASLH’s Making History at 250: The Field Guide for Semiquincentennial, is an opportunity to broadly explore one of the guide’s themes, The American Experiment. For many in the American colonies in 1776, independence from Britain represented a “leap into the dark” into an unknown future

ASTC 2025 Annual Conference September 5–8, 2025 San Francisco Bay Area ASTC 2025 will be held primarily at the Moscone Center in the SoMa/Yerba Buena neighborhood of San Francisco with other events throughout the area. The ASTC Annual Conference is one of the premier annual events for science-engagement professionals and leaders in science and technology centers and museums as well as allied organizations across North America and around the world. ASTC 2025 is being hosted by a consortium of ASTC members in the San Francisco Bay Area. Each year, this event brings together more than 1,600 professionals working in science and technology centers and museums and allied organizations. This includes not only experts and practitioners in informal science education, but also science communication, STEM learning, public engagement, and the broader intersections between science, technology, and society.
